Kelly Anderson has appeared with the New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Deutsche Opera Berlin, Opera Leipzig, Boston Lyric Opera, Portland Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, Hawaii Opera, Washington Opera, Opera Colorado, Glimmerglass Opera, and the Pamiro Opera.

In October, 2002, he made a notable debut with the New York City Opera as Jochanaan in Salome. He returned to the company this past season as Escamillo in Carmen and the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro. He also send Scarpia in Tosca with the Kentucky Symphony. This season, he will debut with Arizona Opera as Michele in Il Tabarro and will return to the Florentine Opera as Marcello. Next season, he will sing Germont in La Traviata for Fort Worth Opera.

Other recent engagements include Angelotti in Tosca and Starveling in A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, Dead Man Walking with Opera Pacific and Austin Lyric Opera , the title role in Don Giovanni with Opera North, Gideon March in the new opera Little Women by Mark Adamo with Opera Pacific, De Bretigny in Manon with the Florida Grand Opera, Ping in Turandot with the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, Escamillo in Carmen with Pamiro Opera, Achila in Julius Caesar with Florida Grand Opera, Scarpia in Tosca with the Kentucky Symphony, Julius Caesar with Portland Opera, Basil in the US premiere of Dorian Gray with the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, Mephistopheles in Faust and Count Almaviva in Mozart's Marriage of Figaro with the Florida Grand Opera and Opera Festival of New Jersey, Raimondo in Lucia Di Lammermoor with Boston Lyric Opera, a Escamillo in Carmen with Oper Leipzig, title role in Don Giovanni with Florida Grand Opera, Hawaii Opera, Opera Colorado, and Washington Opera (student matinee), Hans Foltz and the Night Watchman in Die Meistersinger with the Chicago Symphony and Sir Georg Solti (also recorded under the London/Decca label) and Andrew Borden in Lizzie Borden with Glimmerglass Opera.

He has also sung with the symphonies of Chicago, Boston, Houston, Cincinnati, St. Louis, St. Paul, Evansville, West Virginia, Florida Philharmonic, Phoenix, Kentucky, Indiana, and Berlin. With the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Mr. Anderson appeared both as Don Pizarro in concert performances of Fidelio and in an all-Beethoven program that included the Choral Fantasy and segments of the Mass in C.

Kelly Anderson began his career as a young artist with Deutsche Opera Berlin. He sang a variety of roles including Masetto in Don Giovanni and the King in Aida and recorded the role of Golfredo in Bellini's Il Pirata for the Berlin Classics Label. He was also a member of the Houston Opera Studio of the Houston Grand Opera and, during that time, he performed the King in Aida, Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Colline in La Boheme.

Kelly Anderson is a 1994 winner of the George London Award and one of the winners of the Belvedere Competition. Other awards include the 1993 Robert Jacobson Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation; the 1993 Catherine Filene Shouse Study Grant from Wolf Trap Opera; and the 1993 Richard F. Gold Career Grant from the Shoshana Foundation. He took first prize in the 1993 McAllister Opera Singer Competition.

A native of Chesterton, Indiana, he received his Bachelor of Music in Voice from the New England Conservatory and a Master of Music in Voice from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
